We came to stay at coqui del mar for a military R+R. They were extremely flexible and worked with us on dates as much as possible! The condo was clean and furnished! The kitchen had everything I needed to make him home cooked meals for the first time in 10 months and it was a short walk to the grocery store as well as amazing restaurants and night life! We will definitely stay here again and recommend it for all ages and groups. The backyard makes it prime for children and the closed in front porch offered a nice retreat from the sun while still feeling the breeze. We were also less than 200 feet from the beach and the stretch of beach we were on was relatively quiet so it was just perfect! I cannot say enough good things about this place!

My stay at Coqui del Mar was excellent. I had no complaints. The apartment I stayed in was clean, furnished with everything we needed, and safe. It was only about ten minutes from the airport, about a block from the beach and walking distance to many restaurants, bars and shopping. The owners were extremely helpful in giving us ideas on where to go and what to do and answered any questions which was a plus. I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again!

I recently spent a week in San Juan and stayed at the Coqui del Mar, a small, lovely guest house and would like to recomend it. It is located just a half block from Ocean Beach in a peaceful and lovely area close to the Isla Verde area with its restaurants and hotels. My room, the smallest, was very comfortable with a queensized bed, plenty of closet and storage, widescreen TV, full bathroom and full kitchenette with drinks and snacks available. Neal and Noyda are very warm, gracious hosts, always helpful and friendly. Almost forgot the prices -- extremely reasonable, particularly when you consider how expensive lodgings in San Juan can be. I highly recommend Coqui del Mar.

Considering price and location, it's hard to beat this place if you're an independent traveler on a budget. The building is old, but the property managers, Neal and Noyda, have done everything they can to spruce it up. My studio had a nice flat-screen TV, DVD player, iPod stereo, and full kitchen. They even provide you with snacks and bottles of water ....I would not hesitate to return.

I recently travelled to San Juan for an extensive business trip. Normally I stay in hotels but this time I decided to try out a vacational rental despite warnings from fellow co-workers. I was competely blown away by the accomadations. I travel about 9 months out of the year, and the studio I booked outranks 90% of the Marriotts and Hiltons I have stayed in. The studio was equipped with modern furnishings , very clean, and the kitchen was amiably stocked with all the necessary pots, pans, cooking utensils, full-size refrigerator, and full range and oven. A Residence Inn at the fraction of the cost. The hosts of the guesthouse were extremely friendly and helpful, and the residence was fairly quiet. Most sites are either walking distance or a few kilometers from the apartment. The beach is rather small, but mostly unoccupied during the week. If your searching for a creative alternative to blandly decorated, over priced hotel rooms, this is the place. It is an outstanding value for the price and location.

We just got back from staying at the Coqui del Mar, and had a great time! The place was really nice (just the right size for a couple), safe and convenient to restaurants, stores and the beach! Neal and Noyda went out of their way to accomodate us, and there were no hidden fees that we found when searching for other apartments. I would highly recommend this cute little place!

We lived in Puerto Rico for several years so we knew that we wanted to be close to the beach and easily accessible to the bar life and restuarants of Condado, Ocean Park, and Old San Juan. Noyda and Neal are the two owners and not only true charmers but also very open and helpful with whatever we needed. As we booked a little late in the game, we stayed in two different apartments during our stay, Apt A on the ground floor and Apt E on the 2nd floor. Both were clean, comfortable and as warm or cool as we desired. Both rooms had all of the amenities that you would want in your own home: tupperware, DVD player, throw pillows, comfy beach chairs, wireless internet access. It is a bit of a walk to Condado, probably 30 minutes, but this cute guest house is removed from all of the craziness of the hotel areas that we call gringo-landia and perfect for getting away from it all. We recommend you rent a car to allow easy and convenient access to all of San Juan and the rest of the island's pleasures. If this is your first visit to Puerto Rico, try to get out of the San Juan Metro Area!! Buen viaje!

The apt was really clean and nice furniture, large rooms in a nice neighborhood half a block from the ocean. A short walking distance to a strip of restaurant, supermarket and the bus stop to go to the condado, if you like walking, I went to condado walking along the beach. The owner are really nice and answered my question promptly. I will go back there.

This guesthouse has a great location in the Ocean Park neighborhood of San Juan. It's about 12 dollar taxi from the airport. It has a good location if you're looking to be close to the beach, relax, and strip of clubs in isla verde. Was here for 10 days and it was a really long stay and enjoyed everynight. I stayed in the studio on the upper level which was just recently renovated with full private bath and full kitchen, fully stocked. Downstairs is a three bedroom apartment for rent as well that just completed its renovation that boasts flat screen tv, like in the studio, modern furniture and ihome for the ipod. It offers a really good location (2 blocks from the beach), great hospitality from Noyda, the manager, and at an amazing price compared to any of the local hotels. Don't forget to take out the bikes down the beach or even into old san juan. It is easy to get around in the city on taxi and cheap. However if you're going to be here for 3+ days you could rent from Charlie's Rental for cheap and nice cars as well.

Coqui Del Mar proved to be an excellent choice for our stay in San Juan. Neal, who manages the building with his wife Noyda was so helpful and down- to- earth. He was open to answering any questions and even drove us to the grocery store. The room was perfect. We had a flat screen TV with channels or both English and Spanish, a full size kitchen equipped with everything you could possible need, and a nice bathroom. Overall, this is the place you should stay if you want to save a few dollars while still having a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend.

The best part of our stay was the welcome and support we received from Noida — she and her husband are the resident managers. She truly made us feel at home. The place was clean, well kept, and ideally located. The only mistake we made was in choosing the Studio, which was a bit tight for two adults. Next time we will choose the one bedroom. We also appreciated the location (a short walk from a clean and attractive beach). We felt secure and comfortable walking in the area. Some of the nearby restaurants are excellent, literally providing a taste of the culture we went to experience. A grocery store is a short walk away, making it easy to stock the refrigerator and shelves so that breakfast and a quick lunch are easy to prepare. We look forward to our next stay.
